Growth Groups

The primary way people experience Christ-Centered friendship and “pastoral” care at GRC is in a Growth Group. These are gatherings of 8-12 people representing various backgrounds and stages of life who meet regularly in homes to share life and consider what the Bible has to say about life.

If you’d like to find out more or connect to a group, or if you’d like help choosing one, you can choose to provide some basic information, and we can suggest a Growth Group meeting within days. You can do either by clicking here to give us your details and interest.

Outside of corporate worship, joining a Growth Group is the single best way to get connected into community to encourage your growth and the growth of others at GRC. We hope that everyone in our church can participate in one.

 Grace Kids

Grace Kids is our children’s program for infants to 5th graders at Grace Redeemer Church, and is led by a team of staff and volunteers who are passionate about teaching kids the Gospel and showing them Jesus!  Our goal is to provide a safe, warm and interactive environment where kids can grow in their relationship with Jesus and in community with other children and their teachers.  We aim to walk alongside parents in growing their kids into followers of Jesus.

We hope that you and your kids will come to visit us soon!  When you arrive, come visit our Grace Kids check-in desk to register your children and find out about the fun going on that Sunday!  We offer engaging programs for your children from birth to 5th grade each Sunday.

Nursery (0 to 3-years-old)

The Grace Kids nursery program serves children birth through three years old.  During the service, your child will experience fun learning activities and cooperative play with other children his or her age.  Our professional childcare staff and caring volunteers will make sure that your child is nurtured and well-cared for during their time at church.  During the Sunday school hour at 10:00am, the two and three-year-olds will have their own Sunday school class full of songs and engaging activities that will teach them more about Jesus!

Pre-School and Elementary (4-years-old to 5th graders)

Our Grace Kids Preschool  and Elementary program serves four-year olds to 5th graders.  We offer programs during the Sunday service and the Sunday School hour at 10:00am.

Your PreK through 3rd grade children will worship alongside you during the first part of each worship service.  Right before the sermon they will be dismissed to Kids Club. In Kids Club they will sing, hear Gospel-centered Bible stories, and play games and do crafts that teach them about Jesus.

During the first service, our 4th and 5th grade students are invited to attend “The Bridge,” our special class designed just for them! The Bridge is designed to build community and an increased love for Jesus among our older elementary kids by engaging ice breakers, focused instruction and lots of time to discuss how to practically live out the Gospel.  Bridge Kids also take part in doing service projects together.

At 10:00am we have Sunday school classes for 4-year-olds to 5th graders.  Through the Gospel Project curriculum, we teach the Bible in a way that always points to Jesus!  In Sunday school the kids watch creative Bible stories, learn Bible verses and engage in games and activities that help them to learn about Jesus at their level.  Our 5th grade kids take a more discussion-based approach in Sunday school that helps them to feel safe to ask questions and build community as they grow in the Gospel together.

  Grace Stories

These are the stories of God’s grace in the lives of God’s people here at Grace Redeemer Church.  These stories are little snapshots of Gospel transformation in people’s lives.  And, we all need that at some level, don’t we?  We all desire that at some level. At times, we all doubt that God can change us—or a spouse—or a situation.  Or a church, or a community, or even a nation.  But, these are real testimonies of God’s grace in people’s lives.  Some of these may strike you as ordinary, and that’s good if it helps you relate to the story, and it reminds you that anyone can change by the power of God.  Some stories may strike you as extraordinary, and that’s good too if it strengthens your ability to believe that God can overcome any obstacle in your life and can change anything.

As you listen to these stories, may the Holy Spirit reveal to you more clearly what your own Grace Story is all about.  And, as you hear these testimonies, and as they’re all different, I hope you remember that which we all have in common.  It is that: by grace, you have been saved; through faith and not of your own doing; it is the gift of God, not the result of works; so that no one may boast.

 Membership

We are delighted that you have been worshiping with us at Grace Redeemer and are interested in becoming a member. The first step is to attend our membership class called Inquirers.

Membership Process

An Inquirers Class is designed to answer your questions about the Christian faith, introduce you to GRC and our ministries, and inform you as to avenues of service within the church and the local community. Should you choose to pursue membership upon completion of the class, you will be asked to stand for vows during a Sunday worship service. The Grace Redeemer Session has determined that the following steps shall be taken for membership:

1. Attend Inquirers class

Inquirers is held twice a year and is an in-depth presentation of GRC’s vision, values, ministries and structure. It is a prerequisite for church membership but it’s also generally beneficial to newer attendees. We schedule it in a one-day format in order to minimize impact on very busy schedules. Sign up at the welcome desk to register. Free childcare is provided upon request. If you have any questions, please contact Teresa Teresa@graceredeemer.com.

2. Complete Membership Application form

The application is available in the Inquirers manual and should be returned to Teresa Vargas upon completion of the class. No steps are taken to notify your former church or to schedule an elder interview until this application has been submitted.

3. Participate in an Elder interview

The Elder interview is a casual time of conversation with two elders, where you will have the opportunity to share what God is doing in your life. The elders are also available to answer any lingering questions about theology, Grace Redeemer church and membership.

4. Stand for Public Affirmation of Membership Vows

Even though a person attends Inquirers and has been interviewed by our elders, he/she is not considered a member of GRC until the membership vows have been affirmed publicly.

Vows

Members of Grace Redeemer Church affirm these vows:

  • Do you acknowledge yourselves to be a sinner in the sight of God, justly deserving His displeasure, and without hope except in His sovereign mercy?
  • Do you believe in the Lord Jesus Christ as the Son of God, and Savior of sinners, and do you receive and depend upon Him alone for salvation as He is offered in the Gospel?
  •  Do you now resolve and promise, in humble reliance upon the grace of the Holy Spirit, that you will attempt to live in a manner consistent with being a follower of Christ?
  • Do you promise to serve Christ and His Church by supporting and participating with this congregation in its worship and work to the best of your ability?
  • Do you submit yourself to the government and discipline of the Church and to the spiritual oversight of this church’s Session, and do you promise to promote and protect its purity and peace?
