Andrew went to find his brother, Simon, and told him, "We have found the Messiah" (which means "Christ"). Then Andrew brought Simon to meet Jesus." Jn. 1:41-2 In Acts 7, Stephen paraphrases vast portions of the Old Testament to preach Christ. Then later, in Acts 17 Paul paraphrases the poets of Athens to preach Christ. But for those who feel spiritually inadequate, simply bringing a friend to church is all it takes for that person to experience salvation-to meet Jesus and become His disciple. This past Easter Sunday the same thing happened. Two members of Grace Redeemer invited a friend to the Easter Sunday service. The Lord used genuine friendship, modeling of the Christian life, and a simple invitation to the Easter service to draw this person to Christ. Please pray for this brand new Christian to grow strong in the knowledge of the Lord Jesus Christ. Just as importantly, ask yourself, "Who could you simply 'bring' to church to meet Jesus?"-just as Andrew and many others have. A simple invitation--can be catapulted into a destiny-making moment for a neighbor in spiritual need.
