Family:
I married my wonderful wife Kari in 1995 in Cleveland, OH. The Lord gave us 4 “arrows” in our quiver–Elise in 1998, Ben in 1999, Ian in 2002, and Emma Kate in 2006
What I like best about my ministry:
Seeing people liberated by Christ to live to the fullest‹and being a friend, counselor, confidante, catalyst and pastor-teacher along people’s spiritual journey
In a former existence:
Worked in banking for Keycorp in Quality Improvement, Disaster Prevention, Commercial Client Sales, and Corporate Training.
For fun I enjoy
Hanging with friends, meeting new ones, having people over for dinner, anything with Kari and the kids learning to play guitar, watching the Cincinnati Bengals rebuild (since 1982) and the Green Bay Packers wreak havoc, thought provoking movies, 80s-90 alternative music or 60¹s Classic Rock, war/guy movies, painting, strategy games i.e. Settlers of Catan
Favorite places
Wisconsin Lakes, Trader Joes, attending a rare theater or symphony performance with Kari, a great dinner, dinner conversation with good friends, walks outside during the peak of fall, and enjoying time at home with my family (to recharge I value quiet, “hobbit” time).
Favorite quote or book:
Anything CS Lewis. I also enjoy reading Neil Postman, Theodore Dalrymple and Flannery O’Connor.
Favorite food:
Ethnic restaurants, anything coffee (sipping, roasting), dark chocolate (with nibs), spicy anything, Kim Chi, Mexi-Anything, Giordanno¹s Chicago Stuffed Pizza, seafood, bagels, hummus, giardiniera, tomatillo salsa, Ginos/Pat¹s Philly Cheesesteaks, Indian Curry
Dislikes:
Getting lost, being late, picking the line where the person in front of me decides to write a check (or can¹t find his missing nickel), grocery store/elevator/country music
Scripture to live by:
Hmmm. Hard to narrow it down to one favorite. God uses different passages to speak to me at different times. 1Th. 2:8 we loved you so much that we desired to share not only the Gospel with you, but also our own lives as well, because you had become so dear to us.
