Nursery (Birth through three years old)

We believe that forming kingdom disciples begins at the earliest age possible. During the church service you are encouraged to bring your youngest children to the nursery where they will be ministered to in Word and deed by committed and loving volunteers. We pray and trust that the Holy Spirit will bring faith to their hearts as they begin to understand and delight in God’s love for them.

Check In

To help nursery families worship with peace of mind they are given a vibrating pager when dropping off their child(ren) and a nametag is placed on your child. If there is difficulty with your child while in nursery, we are able to easily call the parent with the pager. The child is only released to the parent handing in a pager to ensure security in our program. Regular attendees have a pager assigned to them which can be picked up in their child’s room or the registration desk (for families with more than one child in nursery. All visitors are ask to register at the nursery registration desk where they will be assigned a pager and given further information.

Well Child Policy

To ensure the health of all children in our nursery please follow the well child guidelines placed below. In addition, our nursery volunteers seek to provide a clean environment for the children by disinfecting toys and equipment, washing hands, vacuuming carpets, and cleaning linens each week.

A well child has:
  • No fever over 99.6 degrees currently or for the last 24 hours
  • No vomiting or diarrhea currently or for the last 24 hours
  • No runny nose from onset through one week
  • No cough
  • No unexplained rashes
  • No skin infections (impetigo, boils, ringworm)
  • No eye infections
  • No childhood diseases such as chicken pox, mumps, measles, rubella, pertussis, scarlet fever

 
If your child has any of the above symptoms, they will not be accepted for nursery attendance. If they develop any of the symptoms while in care, we will page the parent to come get the child.

Classroom and Program Information

Nursery classrooms are all located in the nursery hallway. Nursery is available during both worship services and also the Christian education hour. Specific age appropriate teaching described below occurs during the Christian Education hour. During the worship service our nursery children are card for by Covenant Keeper volunteers.

 
Baby Chicks (Birth through 13 months) and Loving Lambs (14 – 29 months)
Our youngest children are cared for in a nurturing environment with age appropriate toys and equipment. In this room a foundation of faith is encouraged through an attitude of unceasing prayer of our volunteers. The children are exposed to basic Bible truths so they will begin to have knowledge of God in their hearts.

Puddle Jumpers (2&3 year olds; having turned two before December 2008)
Our most active toddlers continue learning Bible truths about God’s family, God’s Son, God’s love, and God’s people using repetition and illustration. This Christ focused curriculum also provides take home sheets so that parents can reinforce these truths throughout the week.
